I agree that when the cameras are on, behavior changes, but it isn't always violent. Violence happens when a crowd is pushed to a certain point. It doesn't matter if anyone is taping it or not. Crowd violence almost always stems from a catalyst on either side. It is whoever "swings first". The problem really comes when the police are not well trained enough to stop the situation from escalating. It's difficult on both ends because emotions run high, but no one wants to take responsibility.

Lots of those other countries with nationalized health care are actually bouncing back faster than the United States. The whole world got economically hit, but western europe and japan are recovering faster than we are. By having health care coverage for all their citizens they have a healthier workforce and (especially with the auto companies) they don't have to worry about adding health care costs into their workers' salaries so they are better able to compete globally.

Atleast the company got ahold of him to let him know of the problem and to resolve it rather than ignoring and hiding it! I admit thou Honda is a great company and Ford has also came a long way now - all the current models are really remarkable - I trust Ford now. Its interesting how most of the parts that failed were being manufactured in the USA. It raises a lot of conspiracy theories and also does not make US manufacturing look good. The US has opportunity to become a top manufacturer again in a lot of different things but its not going to happen from large corporations because people at these factories in the US do not have the work ethics of Japan. In the US you are considered a number not a worker who has a brain. Senseless jobs.

Everyone is talking about large companies. Fighting over which is the best. Do people realize now how many small companies are out there building cars that are high quality and great customer service. The future of the automobile industry is changing and hopefully for the better. People have got to stop focusing on these major brands and start looking at the many alternatives.

He's a cautious fellow in his judgments, and now that he has been disabused of the idea that the markets will function perfectly, he's great for avoiding a depression. For example, in the last Fed meeting, someone dissented from maintaining the low interest rate for another 6 months. But Bernanke has no fear at all of inflation, his greatest worry is deflation.

Greenspan was almost mystical in his ability to predict what would happen, until he wasn't mystical any more, and finally even admitted that his economic philosophy had been severely messed up. Everyone is bad-mouthing the Fed, but soon enough the Fed will prove to be amazingly useful, courageous, and mystical!! Bernanke is a hero, lol !!!

This is because government spending has a direct correlation with aggregate demand and works better than tax relief because the multiplier affect with deficit spending has a higher multiplier.

Bernanke knows what he's doing man. See the Fed regulates money supply and can either help stimulate growth or prevent demand pull inflationary spikes; they can't per say prevent a recession because the fed doesn't have control over the people or the government. E.G. Bush gave out tax relief, when we were already running too hot, and ran a expansionary fiscal policy, while Bernanke still kept interest rates high, with a contractionary monetary policy. Fiscal and monetary policy should agree.

Vat? Its not just that I think Bernacke is a failure and has been hypnotised by Big business with bad Austrian school economics. Its that I would rather have Joseph Stiglets, just as qualified and proved he understood the situation better than Benacke who was caught spinning. Greenspan was a fool, Bernacke was a fool. An opinion that gains consensus every day. I am not surprised half the country is chanting down with the Fed. The Fed should work for the people not bankers short term profit.

Moreover, you continue to not appreciate the fact that Bernanke knows what has happened, is an expert in recovering from recession/depression, etc. You're way too anxious to punish someone for making a mistake -- all that will do is set us up for the next mistake.

Believe it or not, the Republican Party was a third party relegated to minor status. It was founded in 1854 & gained popularity as the anti-slavery, modernization Pro-Lincoln party. In other words the Republican party of the mid-1900's is akin to the progressive wing of Democrats today, albeit more radical. I'm a huge supporter of Green technologies and the current administration is failing... They are trying though which is a step up from the past, but 700,000 cars is nothing in a nation of 380 million people. Allowing EPA to declare greenhouse gas was a cop out, because they failed to get the waxman bill passed. It was kind of a safety net, but honestly youre going to need a bill.
