I believe that the problem is that the Senate Bill cannot be changed. It has to be voted, by Congress, the WAY IT IS right now. If they change it, Senat has to vote for it again.

This is the first time Cenk has endorsed medicare for everyone.That is a public option that makes sense. That is a far cry from the public option currently in the house bill. But more importantly Cenk is a con-man. He's never said that before. I've literally heard an old lady back down Michael Savage on this and never heard a peep from Cenk, who cant shutup about the house version.

I'd have no problem with a slight raise because of the point you make- overall insurance costs would be reduced. My main concern is that the baby boomers will be overwhelming medicare soon and most of them will not have to pay cost because of their age. This may cause a higher tax jump than most people are comfortable with, even with younger people opting to pay into the system. It's this type of concern that some reps will use as an excuse to scrap the whole thing w/out a 2nd thought.

Solution, Single-Payer. Take private insurance out of our health care system completely. If some rich knob or some poor conservative idiot doesn't wanna be a part of it then allow these folks to buy their health insurance overseas. Obama should be tarred and feathered for pushing the impotent "public option" instead of going straight for single-pay because he and the dems KNEW they wouldn't get any bipartisanship from the republicans, at least if single-pay failed we'd have SOMETHING!

This SOUNDS great, but I have to question how long it could be carried on without raising the tax rate. I have yet to read his proposal, but it sounds pretty simple; no one in the private sector is going to set up a not-for-profit insurance company, so why not let the govt. give it a try.

I agree completely with you. How many Conservatives are even aware of the fact that America is among the last places in the world, when it comes to life expectancy, and we are 37th as far as giving health care to our people. We are in a place where sheer capitalism will destroy our country. The only other place in the world other than the U.S. of A. that bases its health care solely relying on private health care insurance is Somalia. Does that not speak loud enough?
